This recording features chamber music for strings by composer Marcus Goddard. The opening work “Allaqui” was first recorded by the St. Lawrence String Quartet. I was so gobsmacked by the sheer visceral energy of this work, I approached Marcus about writing a work for my string trio at the time. The result is the second work on this recording, “Wind, Sand & Stars”, based on Antoine de St. Exupéry’s autobiographical Novella. 5 years later, the Archytas Ensemble commissioned, premiered and recorded Marcus’s second string quartet, “Three Wings”, and subsequently produced this recording.
